Quick access to favorite programs

Frequently used programs can be defined as "favorites" and started with a single touch of the screen. This smart start function also includes other parameters such as an end-time programming option. The user-friendly smart start helps avoid user errors and improves the reliability of operation.

Safety at the workplace

Contaminated air is safely kept in the instrument by an active condenser. The internal air handling system is completed by an activated carbon filter which absorbs any remaining fumes. All reagents (including paraffin) are drained through an external hose system, completely preventing user exposure.

Minimized reagent carry-over

The risk of reagent carry-over is minimized by an improved reagent bottle and module design and a software-controlled, three-stage drain system.

Active paraffin cleaning

Solvent contaminants are safely removed from the paraffi n by simply touching a key on the screen. The extraction process ensures efficient paraffin cleaning, which extends paraffin life, improves sample quality and reduces operation costs.

Reagent management system

The improved Reagent Management System (RMS) allows critical data to be assessed at a glance and ensures that all reagents are used in order of cleanliness. The RMS helps reduce reagent consumption and optimizes sample quality.

Like a ‘virtual technician’ RemoteCare is a value-added solution that helps you deliver better patient care.

What Does ‘Remote Service‘ mean?

Remote Service Software is used by equipment manufacturers to remotely monitor, access and repair products in use at customer sites. It’s a secure, auditable gateway for service teams to troubleshoot problems, perform proactive maintenance, assist with user operations and monitor performance. This technology is typically implemented in mission-critical environments like hospitals or IT data centers – where equipment downtime is intolerable.

Any communication between instrument installed and Leica Microsystems is triggered or initiated from the instrument software. Standard https protocols are used.

Very soon the rapid tissue processor Leica Peloris and the confocal laser scanning microscope Leica SP2 will be added to the range.

Data Safety is a Primary Concern

Privacy and security are of the highest importance to our customers and connecting any computer to the Internet raises security concerns. Therefore the RemoteCare service does not allow Leica Microsystems access to any of your network or hospital’s data. The direct remote monitoring only allows access to the connected system information.

RemoteCare addresses the following key security concerns:

  • Conceals data from unauthorized parties
  • Requires that system users are authorized
  • Limits each user to specific data, views and actions
  • Desktop sharing requires customer approval

Leica Microsystems Nussloch GmbH is announcing the new Leica ASP300 S tissue processor reflecting the latest in state-of-the-art technology to improve specimen quality and laboratory performance. The Leica ASP300 S is a fully enclosed, stand-alone system for the automated processing of up to 300 standard tissue cassettes.

The new model is a significant improvement of Leica’s successful ASP300 and uses high quality materials and components to maximize reliability and durability. The ovarall focus of the design was to improve critical performance criteria like sample quality, process and operator safety, reagent carry-over and consumption, instrument up-time and lifetime cost. Remote, contact-free fill & drain of reagents, superior process control, an active paraffin cleaning cycle and an improved reagent bottle and cabinet design are just a few of the features that ensure optimum specimen quality. The enhanced Reagent Management System ensures a consistently high sample quality with optimized reagent use. Consequently, the cost of instrument operation will be reduced through eonomic reagent usage. A compatibility check algorithm avoids the cross contamination of incompatible reagents and assures a new level of safety and reliability. This again extends the lifetime of the reagents and improves the sample quality.
