Introduction to the CSP Digital Pathology Format
What is CSP?
Currently, digital pathology lacks unified formats and data standards. Proprietary formats from different scanner manufacturers create "data silos," preventing interoperability and data sharing. This hinders the development of smart digital pathology, limits large-scale application, and prevents the full realization of pathological data value.
CSP stands for Chinese Society of Pathology format. It is a standardized data format initiated to solve critical industry challenges, including:
- Data silos caused by vendor-specific proprietary formats.
- Difficulties in unified data management.
- Suboptimal viewing experiences for pathologists.
- High storage costs for massive datasets.
- Incomplete private format specifications.
- Inconsistencies in AI analysis results across platforms.
