DiaKwant™ Mitosis Breast
The needle in the haystack, found. Zero click, zero annotation, zero manual counting: when you open the hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) slide in Aperio HALO AP Software, DiaKwant™ AI has already framed the invasive breast carcinoma, detected the mitotic figures, located the 2 mm² hotspot of highest density and computed the mitotic score, with global and hotspot counts. A density heatmap shows each figure in context, so the score stays traceable to the tissue. You stay in control. The AI handles the count.

DiaKwant Mitosis Demonstration in Aperio HALO AP Image Management System
DiaKwant Mitosis is a DiaDeep algorithm integrated within the Aperio HALO AP digital pathology platform to deliver accurate mitotic quantification. It automatically analyzes the whole slide to detect mitotic figures across all invasive areas and identify the 2 mm² hotspot with the highest mitotic density, with no manual annotation or selection of invasive regions required from the pathologist.
After selecting an H&E slide, the pathologist can review the tissue in detail. A heatmap overlay highlights mitotic density across the invasive tumor. The heatmap can be switched on or off at any time, allowing the pathologist to compare the algorithm's output with the underlying tissue morphology.
At the end of the analysis, the pathologist obtains:
- The mitotic score.
- The hotspot mitotic count on which the score is based, and the global mitotic count across the invasive tumor.
- The global mitotic count.
- A heatmap of mitotic density across the invasive tumor.
DiaKwant also offers automated quantification for PD-L1, HER2, Ki-67, ER, and PR.
