DiaKwant™ ER Breast
ER, nucleus by nucleus, on the entire tumor. Zero click, zero annotation, zero manual counting: when you open the slide in Aperio HALO AP Software, DiaKwant™ AI has already framed the invasive breast carcinoma, excluded infiltrating lymphocytes from analysis, classified each tumor nucleus and computed the ER score, defined as the percentage of ER positive tumor nuclei over the invasive area. A heatmap shows where ER positive nuclei sit, so the score stays traceable to the tissue. You stay in control. The AI handles the count.

DiaKwant ER Demonstration in Aperio HALO AP Image Management System
DiaKwant ER is a DiaDeep algorithm integrated within the Aperio HALO AP digital pathology platform to deliver accurate estrogen receptor (ER) quantification. It automatically analyzes the whole slide to classify tumor cells as ER-positive or ER-negative, with no manual annotation or selection of invasive regions required from the pathologist.
After selecting an ER slide, the pathologist can review the tissue in detail. A heatmap overlay highlights the distribution of ER-positive cells across the invasive tumor. The heatmap can be switched on or off at any time, allowing the pathologist to compare the algorithm's output with the underlying tissue morphology.
At the end of the analysis, the pathologist obtains:
- The ER score, expressed as the percentage of ER-positive tumor cells.
- A heatmap of ER-positive cell distribution across the invasive tumor.
DiaKwant also offers automated quantification for PD-L1, HER2, Ki-67, PR, and mitosis.
