Leica Biosystems at NSH 2012, Vancouver

Published:

Earlier this week, we participated in the 38th Annual National Society of Histotechnology (NSH) Convention under the new Leica Biosystems brand. Our presence included providing demonstration equipment for workshops, our experts hosting education symposia, an exhibit booth and a large charitable donation in honor of the NSH to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.

We were proud to show attendees an especially large number of new technological advancements - either newly launched Leica Biosystems products or new products at NSH:

CM1860 UV

Cerebro 1.2 (Bi-directional LIS connectivity)

ST Infinity H&E Staining System

BOND-Advance upgrade (select regions)

BOND-MAX upgrade (select regions)

Novocastra HD Breast Pathology

BOND HER-2 FISH testing approval for Canada

SCN400 Whole Slide Scanner

Ariol

These new instruments and system enhancements support our commitment to being a global leader in workflow solutions, providing our partners with the highest diagnostic confidence in Anatomical Pathology. We were very excited to speak to our customers about how the new products can provide better laboratory efficiency and value as well as help address the current industry challenges.

In addition to showcasing the individual product innovations, we also highlighted our Pathology LeadersTM webinar series. Recently, we unveiled four events in the 4th quarter. These esteemed histopathology experts from both the USA and UK will focus on the science of Breast Pathology, Neuroscience and Special Staining. Please be sure to check: www.leicabiosystems.com/pathologyleaders/webinars for the updated schedule.

Overall, one of Leica Biosystems' most rewarding aspects of this year’s NSH was our ability to demonstrate that, our company is truly focused on our vision of advancing cancer diagnostics to improve patient's lives. Leica Biosystems donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charity in Vancouver $ 25,000 and 150 free admission passes to the Vancouver Science World. When presented with this gift on Tuesday, the Ronald McDonald House Charity indicated that children from the local families they care for will thoroughly appreciate a fun, recreational day and an opportunity to take their minds off cancer treatment.
