Dr. Thomas Decker, from Dietrich Bonhoeffer-Clinic, Neubrandenburg, Germany, is a staff and a breast pathologist expert in Europe. His medical education and training are from University Berlin and Medical Academy Dresden and Rudolph Virchow-Institute of Pathology University Berlin. Some of his past roles include deputy head for immunohistochemistry, Senior Medical Officer for Breast Pathology, and co-ordinator of the Multidisciplinary Breast Team, Breast Unit. Rd. Decker’s current role is the Head of the Department of Pathology, Dietrich Bonhoeffer Medical Centre Neubrandenburg; reference pathologist for the Reference Centres for Mammography (RCM) Muenster and Berlin within the German Breast Screening Program. His main research field are Minimal invasive breast biopsy, radiological-pathological correlation, preneoplasia of the breast, growth pattern and distribution of DCIS, breast screening pathology, basics of QA in multidisciplinary decision making, and sentinel node biopsy. He is also a well published with 84 papers, 9 book chapters including Review activities for Breast Cancer Research, Journal of Clinical Pathology, European of Journal Radiology, Histopathology, Pathology Research and Practice, Virchow’s Archive, International Journal of Breast Cancer, The Breast. He also has a very active role for the breast pathology congresses in Europe and screening programs.
