Automated, Multiplexed Co-detection of RNA and Protein

Co-detection of more than one target in Formalin-Fixed Paraffin Embedded samples is an extremely useful application and one that is increasingly required in modern histopathology labs.

Nowadays, there is a big drive and focus in the research histopathology area towards multiplexing. Multiplexing addresses the need for researchers to assess multiple biomarkers (protein and/or nucleic acid markers) at specific locations within a tissue sample. The information revealed through simultaneous detection of multiple markers, the spatial relationships among cells and tissue in disease, and the heterogeneity are now understood to be critical to developing effective therapeutic strategies.

Learning Objectives

  • Receive an introduction to the Histopathology/ISH Core Facility at the CRUK Cambridge Institute.
  • Understand the work carried out to date using ACD’s Integrated Co-detection Workflow (ICW) for various researchers on the BOND RX research stainer.
