Leica Biosystems Announces Availability of Aperio HALO AP Image Management System in Canada

Vista, CA — May 28, 2026  Leica Biosystems, a Danaher company and global leader in anatomic and digital pathology solutions, today announced the availability of the Aperio HALO AP image management system (IMS) in Canada. The platform is designed to streamline digital pathology workflows by unifying whole slide images and case data within a single, intuitive environment.

Aperio HALO AP IMS, developed in partnership with Indica Labs, provides a comprehensive suite of tools for routine clinical practice, including on screen diagnosis, multidisciplinary team meetings, second opinions, and consultations, within a scalable ecosystem purpose built for pathology.

Key capabilities include: 

  • Centralized management of whole slide images and associated case data for routine on-screen diagnostics 
  •  An intuitive, ergonomic user interface designed for efficient navigation and review 
  • Interoperability with scanners and laboratory information systems to support scalable workflows
  • A French language user interface for use in Canada

The platform is designed to accommodate a wide range of use cases, from image management and collaboration to advanced computational pathology.

In Canada and other applicable regions, Aperio HALO AP IMS is registered as an IVD product and complies with regional regulatory requirements, with availability subject to local approvals. Availability may vary by region.
